Guys,

I wrote a powerpoint for a GPS ground course and managed to put a password on it locking it from opening. Now trying to reopen it 3 years later I've managed to forget the password for it.

Does anyone know of software that can be used to refind the password for it so I can open it and modify it?

Wish I could help, but I have nothing to offer I'm sorry.
"I've managed to forget the password" is the story of my life, much to the dismay of many providers.

Lindstrim, I feel your pain. This might help:

http://download.cnet.com/PowerPoint-Pas ... 39907.html

I do have a system of passwords for various levels - about four, from very simple to get into Win7 to more complex ones for spending / moving money around. For powerpoints, Excel spreadsheets and so on, having been burnt once I just don't use them. I thought I was getting a bit paranoid

Cheers will try that one, I've used one similar but older and had success on a different one but not this one. I think it may be a lost cause tho which is upsetting as it was quite abit of work to get it done

I have "A Little Black Book", which contains every Name and every Password for everything I've ever done on the Internet since 1995.

Its worth its weight in gold, now that my memory has gone walk-abouts.... ...!

It even tells me my name and address!

ALWAYS write stuff down on paper, and don't lose the paper!

...never trust it to memory...CD's, DVD's Floppy Disks, etc, or your hard drive, which is going to go belly-up one day...trust me!

I constantly have to refer to it when wandering around various Internet Forums, etc....!

Another useful tip:...Never "Log-Out" of a Forum!
Make sure you always tick; "Remember me!"

...I like being "Remembered".... ....!

Paul....Passing my Word.... :wink2: ... ....!

Cheers, Paul. :)
If someone breaks into your house, they are not going to sit down and try to steal your internet - they are going to pick up your computer gear and run off with it. It will be sold at the nearest pub with a car-boot sale. In England (as opposed to the UK) goods don't become stolen goods until they are reported as such - which is why car-boot sales start very early and don't last long. Not sure of the posish in Scots Law.

Mind 'ow yer goes

Mike..... .... ...!

My worst fear isn't waking up in the morning and finding that all my computer stuff has been stolen by toe-rags; its waking up in the morning and finding that I cant remember any of my Names and Passwords for my access to the Internet....

...or my own name and address!... :( ...!

I just hope that the thieving toe-rags don't find my Little Black Book, as well as all my gear!

Paul.... ...!
