I think they can keep the Rocks on Ice, that can stay that way, for the Antarctic operations and the thing that intrigues me is the aircraft, thinking about , the different types I have seen, from LC-47s to Ill-76 , course add the Ice Breakers that stopped in Lyttleton during 1960's and early 1970's the WWII Wind Class were impressive ships and visited them three fours time I recall .. the US thing.

Anybody who grew up in the late 1960's would remembered the NZBC TV interlude's (lasted 3/4 miutes only) , one happened to show a pair of ice breakers from the period now in US Coast Guard colours , again searched for it but the closes I found was this doco.
