NZFF

In light of the weather due in the Naki over the next 24 hours , I contacted Air New Zealand tonight and cancelled the Auckland , palmy, welly, sector ... just cant afford a delay there.
I spoke to a truly delightful young lady named Grace , a credit to Air New Zealand ... and nothing was a problem.
I explained my situation , she found another flight from AKL to home direct, deducted what i had paid for the AKL, Palmy, Welly trip and I got an exit row seat for just $50 ... not bad considering the fact that I chose to cancel. Ok , i lost some money , but Im happy with the result .. and i got a few airpoints.

Not sure if "Grace" is her real name , but my goodness , she can sell Air New Zealand .... service plus , and only 2 minutes on hold .... well done .

'Milk run' turned into 'Pea Soup' with extra Vegetables .. and cream on top then

Jeeezzz what a day All went well, turns out I could have done New Plymouth as the weather they thought would come ... didn't really .(not as bad anyway)

The CHC -Dunedin flight was nice, the aircraft seemed pretty new ... had that new car smell (ZK-MVI) broken cloud most of the way down, and only 8c when we landed.

Then onto ZK-OXJ, which also seemed new .... big fluffy's all the way, until the last 5 minutes. AKL was 23c and humid and rain.

Had a bowl of nachos and a beer, bit of a walk around, a muffin and a coffee ... a quick nap (didn't mean to) and checked in for 551 back to CHC.
A slight delay (about 35 minutes I think) as one of the pilots didn't turn up for some reason , and off we went.
Again, cloud all the up to 37,000. Amazing to see them (the fluffys) from above again.
There were 3 very distinct layers, I did snap a couple of pics, which I will sort out on Thursday.

Anyway , back to work in the morning ... bugger.

Still is Mike ... bloody rain , but the farmers down here really need it.

If I hear of a farmer complaining now I'll bloody shoot em , be interesting to see my neighbours hedge will look like after some sun

I am 90km inland, and we only got the edge of the rain - barely 100mm. Our farmers are very happy with that. The traditional May rains have been very erratic lately, and if your soil moisture profile is not right by Queen's Birthday weekend (early June) there is no point planting your winter wheat, so you write off half your yearly income.
