Back from the road trip.

Great bed for the night at Peppers blue water resort ... five stars.
Went up to Mt John this morning before departing ... but it was very cloudy.
Drive home (1hr 55mins) was good, rain from Rangitata to Chc , but no problem.
Don't you just love this tech age .... the car was giving me distance to run with fuel onboard, the GPS was giving me an ETA to the last stop, and picking a fast way thru any potential traffic ... amazing, and it kept me awake
My goodness the Canterbury plains are boring, after Geraldine ... k after k of long , straight , flat roads.
All in all a great couple of days . The only fail was the car (mine) The Mondeo ...2007 Ghia , 2.5 V6 , which amounted to nothing
The lack of cruise control was annoying, the driver's seat after two hours is torture, transmission (tiptronic) is all over the place, and the road noise is horrible, not to mention fuel consumption.
Its the first time Ive taken it on a long trip .... it's also the last.
But , home safe , and back to the grind in the morning.
