I feel like goin' home
Posted: Sun Feb 03, 2019 7:31 pmI've been quite homesick lately, I know that there are some good reasons why I live here in Timaru at the moment, but sometimes I just wanna go somewhere better... The only problem is, as I've probably said before, 'home' isn't quite what it used to be -- all my family and most of my friends have moved away from Christchurch following the earthquakes.
So today I drove up to Christchurch, through the tunnel to Lyttelton, and hopped on the Diamond Harbour ferry. I'd forgotten how great that short trip is to clear your head, out on the harbour with a brisk breeze. When I got over there, I was just in time for the Summer Sunday concert on the Point, I'd forgotten about them. I felt like I'd never left, those are really my kind of people.
Anyway, a quick drive out to NZCH for a couple of photos (it's amazing how much easier it is to access tricky places on a Sunday afternoon...) I feel a hell of a lot better now.
