Its been a while since I looked forward to Friday, having never worked Monday to Friday for the last 43 or so years.
You may have deduced that I am indeed back in the workforce, and very grateful for it as well.
A great job with a multinational company dealing with facilities management....blah blah....long story short .... I'm looking after(with others) a large community campus in the east of Christchurch.
Ensuring that contractors cut the grass, repair the damage, etc etc.

We were locked down last week (which was unnerving), due to our proximity to the Linwood Mosque, and the insane stuff that went down there.
My feelings since then have been up and down, and I won't go into it here just now.
I'm hoping that some good will come out this, but considering 50 innocent people (including kids) are dead.... that may be a hope too far.

My worst nightmare would be, for someone to tell me that they have found me a job, and I must go back to work again, Monday to Friday!.... .... ...!

Thanks very much gents ..it was a long road, but I got there.
I've done a few things since leaving the Air Force, but this is the most interesting. It has changed some opinions I have had on various aspects of New Zealand culture and social issues.


The campus takes kids from 5 through to 14 , so its all go. The daily damage is eye-watering, as is the associated paperwork. I report directly to my boss, who reports to the ministry ...so the paperwork has to 100% as a lot of money is involved.

Well done Marty, its a nice feeling having the ol pay check rolling in each week!
