way ...way off topic, botanical questions.

Question one: how do I get a tree registered as protected? I have a Kauri growing on my(rented) section, and I want to make sure it isn't cut down.
Question two: How do I take a cutting from a grapevine?

Reason being, the place I have been renting for the last 15 years, has been sold(again), and the new owner is going to build flats on the back of the section ...he also bought the property next door.
When this happens, I'm going to lose 3/4 of my garden, which includes the tree and a very old grapevine ..... which was dead (almost) when we arrived here...but after years of care, it came back to life....but will be removed.

Really sad, my partner and I have spent thousands of dollars on this section/garden, and it's going to be demolished.... we have been lifting all the spring bulbs etc and storing them.

We really want to save the tree, and if possible, give the vine a new place to live..... if only via a cutting.

When we arrived here, many years ago, the section was nothing more than a paddock.... we (paid) removed about 4 rubbish skips of rubbish, and slowly built the garden up. A bit silly, in hindsight, as we were renting.,,,but we considered it our home.

But, it's all over now sadly.

It's what 'appens nowadays, Marty.

Too many buildings, too many houses, too many people, too many cars, too much traffic, etc, etc...

Too much of everything now!

We are drowning in it all!

Wherever you live, you don't need; "Human Beings", and all their; "stuff", anywhere near you!

A small tree, for shade, in the Arizona Desert looks good to me!.... ...!

Neighbours?...BAH!.... ....!

Paul....hugging a tree.... ...!

Cheers Lindstrim , will get onto it in the morning.
I really hope I can save that tree, and I also hope, it really screws up their plans.

Lindstrim, I've watched that youtube clip ...and I'm ready to operate, thanks for that

Regarding the Kauri, somebody from the council / botanical gardens is going to have a look, and confirm that it is indeed a Kauri(it is) and start the proceedings to protect it....again, thank you.
