I shot an Albatross :)

Postby emfrat » Thu May 09, 2019 12:37 pm

Spent a birthday long weekend visiting the grandkids, and paid a visit to the museum at HMAS Albatross, which has been updated with a new conservation display, and some beautiful ship models, including these of the carrier HMAS Sydney III and its predecesssor HMAS Sydney II with its very scary catapult launch ramp.

There were also some helicopters in various states of undress, including a very pretty Squirrel, but these are all large 4000x3000 pics so I will just post a link to the gallery so you can download them as you please.

Sounds like such a reasonable solution to the launch/recover conundrum, but yes in practice... not really.
Great pics, the Wingman would've loved these.

The 'Spirit of the Outback' is the only long-distance train left that you can get a proper single-berth sleeper
