I thought it was getting hot on the California Pacific Coast over the past few years, but what is happening in Australia at the moment seems to be beating that calamity!

Here in England, I am always wishing for nice warm weather, (which we rarely get), but my Chums in the Southern Lands are certainly suffering at the moment with extreme heat!

The Temperature Charts in the above link, make an interesting observation!

(I just need to convert it into; "Fahrenheit", and "Miles Per Hour".....like Queen Victoria did)!... ...1

This reminds me of the heartbreak of all the folks in the town of "Paradise" in Northern California, (up the road from San Francisco), where the whole town was razed to the ground by the Wildfire!

I know I have been covering the Wildfire trials and tribulations of our Australian Chums, like Mike, (emfrat), and I wonder if my Chums in NZ are suffering the effects similarly?

Paul, since early December NZ has been getting smoke from the NSW fires, 1200 miles away. Hardly surprising when you consider the huge Mt Gosper mega-fire has now burned out an area larger than Wales in the UK.
Lots of Kiwi volunteers backing up our Firies, as they always do.

Thanks Marty. Temps are almost normal now (high 20s/low 30s) but but next weekend it will be high 30s again. Last week HMAS Albatross a few miles from the grandkids reported 45.5C which is amazing for NSW South Coast, which is generally 5 -7 degrees cooler than here. So, in the shelter of my aircon playroom, I will join you in a glass of wine. Tomorrow will be prawns, and crusty bread and butter, and cold beer. Just wish the smoke haze would blow away.
