Happy Birthday, you lucky fellow. I want their throttle quad more than the yoke, but there are some doubts about AFS2 recognising the Honeycomb stuff. My 15-yr-old CH yoke is still soldiering on, but the quad has lost a couple of pots and one half of the pedals no longer works. I replaced them with a Logitech set, which needs nailing down to floor. The CH ones were nice and heavy and stayed put.
Delivery on the Honeycomb quad had slipped back yet again to quarter 3 of 2020 when I last looked, but who knows what will happen now?

I have the CH yoke and recently replaced the pots with Hall effect sensors and did the rubber band mod to take out the springs. It all works well but no matter what I try the pitch axis always seems to bind. I have tried a dry graphite lubricant but it doesn,t seem to last. It's ok but I just want something more solid and the Honeycomb seems pretty good so far. Maybe a bit too stiff in pitch.

I have a squirty/puffer bottle of dry graphite, and it does work, but there is so much dust blowing around out here that regular cleaning is needed. Yes, pitch is a problem, but roll is fine.

Nice 60th birthday present maybe the Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant might be out later this year given the current world events with recent Facebook Honeycomb Aeronautical update on the Bravo Throttle Quadrant

Initial impressions with the yoke are disappointing but it is still early days. The pitch axis is WAY TOO stiff. It keeps pulling the the suction base off the desk.
The Majestic Q400 is practically unflyable with it. A real disharmony between the aileron and elevator axis. It will have to try and adjust the aileron axis so as to get full travel earlier than 180 degrees.
What a shame the pitch tension is not adjustable.....is it really to much to ask these days?

Not sure if this is applicable, it's been reported that P3D has some Deadzone issues.

Thanks very much for the links. I guess as soon as oneopens the unit up the warranty is gone. I will wait a while before tinkering just to make sure it all works.

Stop it you guys !!! I'll have to sell a few organs to afford that sort of kit

Trouble is I will probably need a dedicated sim desk if I went for the throttle quadrant as well. It does look awesome for sure.
I'm getting more used to the yoke and I have set up slope curves in FSUIPC to make it more sensitive and the neutral position so I don't have to handle the yoke like I would flying a DC3.

So do I but I can't really see that happening for a long time. There is zero flying programmed for the 777 for the next 2 rosters which takes us to 21 Jun. Only 23 captains (out of 147) will remain on the fleet being Instructors and Check captains. This is to allow them to try and maintain some type of currency and be ready to go when things start to pick up. In fact there is no plans for the 777 until April 2021. That is a lot of tin to have lying around.
There is a lot of downtraining to do and that is going to take a very long time. There is so little flying for the 787 as well therefore a very limited number of sectors to train on.
For me the only "real yoke" I will be using will be in the main simulator trying to stay current (at least the required 3 take off and landings every 90 days).
A bad time to realiise that you let your duty free stock get too low!

Will have to maintain "currency" on P3D and the PMDG 777 in the meantime!
