Happy New Year, the rents going up.

Postby Splitpin » Tue Jan 03, 2023 6:04 pm

Well, it had to come I guess....the last two have been minimal.
We are jumping from $540 to $610.....bit of a shock, but as I said, the last two....... etc, and Divided by 4 it isn't too bad I suppose.
I wish my salary went up as much, but I feel blessed that I have the super coming in to help(and I'm still able to do 45 hours a week), Boys are in full employment, as is the boss.
I'll just have to revise my savings plan is all.

Had my previous marriages gone in my favor, I would be sitting pretty now...But, you do what you do at the time, and I chose to take on all the debt.....bad move x 2.

Anyway, did I mention my rent is going up ....just sharing the love.

Sorry to hear about the rent, hopefully that'll be the last for a while, what with the recession and all.
One day you'll be able to look back and laugh, I know that because I've done it already -- I remember seeing an article listing the top five things which can negatively affect your finances, and divorce was number one. Doing that twice and you are not gonna have time to recover. I've walked away from two homes, taking whatever the ex's lawyers offered, which seemed like the best thing to do at the time. Poor but happy now.
2023 scares me a bit. Happy New Year!

I feel ya! My divorced left me worse off too, and I'll be working until I drop. No chance of retirement here :(
Even so, great new wife and family and I still get to fly [very] occasionally. I too am a little concerned about what 2023 might bring.
Happy New Year all and hop all our collective fears are totally unfounded :)
