What I like to do with mushies is get the big round field ones, slice them and then melt a good knob of butter in a pot, add some fresh black pepper, chuck in the mushies, stir to coat them as much as poss, put a lid on then turn down the heat and let them braise down. You finish up with them in a nice peppery black butter sauce to serve on toast for brekkies.

.. don't forget the "Garlic", Mike!

Mashed Garlic and Butter spread inside the flat mushroom cups....
Sprinkle with grated Cheddar Cheese...
..and pop in the oven...
For total lushness... ..!
