A couple of weeks ago, Youtube informed me that a clip I had posted 10 years ago contained copyright material (referring to 1940's US Big Band jazz soundtrack), and as such could not be displayed in Russia (!)



Today, this, regarding another clip:

We know that you may not have realised that this was a violation of our policies, so we're not applying a strike to your channel. However, we have removed the following content from YouTube:

In June 2019, we announced updates to this policy. We understand that you uploaded your content before our policy updates, so we're not applying a strike to your channel.

The 53s clip in question was made 15 years ago in FS9.
Showed the AF Scrub model Stuka doing a wingover and dive.
The model could release its bomb, and did.
I pressed the "Appeal" button as I was perplexed by this, asking what it was that qualified as "hate speech".
Instantly received this:

We have reviewed your appeal for the following:

We have reviewed your content carefully and confirmed that it violates our hate speech policy. We know that this is probably disappointing news but it's our job to make sure that YouTube is a safe place for all.

We won't be putting your content back up on YouTube.

Indeed. We now have to police everything we do and say in case someone with weak intellect and emotion is "offended". You know what happens when you are 'offended'? NOTHING! Nothing happens. Not surprised, seen some other similar responses to other content on other publishers, whether it's an AI-only response or not you are bound to run up against some real-life staff nutter who's more than willing to apply whatever policy is de jour

Yes. I think of all the "YouTube Movies" I have, or the "Prime Video" movies and one mis-step (according to them) and I could lose the whole lot. Crazy world.
I reckon MS Flight Sim 2028 will be a full subscription model stream fully from the cloud; whaddaya reckon?
