I found a great doco on Sir Peter.
Amazing guy with a real passion for historic aviation.
The team he has surrounded himself with are also amazing.

The aircraft he is creating aren't replicas , but re productions....no 2025 up grades. But ,rebuilt as they were made.
What sort of tech do you need to be able to reverse engineer an engine made almost a hundred years ago.... he knows...

Well... not strictly true.
As they are at pains to point out, the machines are built from the original plans.
Barn finds are rebuilt, sure, but you would not be able to tell the difference, down to the very materials used.

Marty, I am hoping you've been through the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre?
I haven't been able to establish if Sir Peter is a pilot, maybe his movie Insurance policies forbid this kind of tomfoolery.
Still, he must be very proud.

Charl - Marty, his brother Sam and myself went through the Centre on my first NZ visit. It's very very good.

Sir Peter doesn't hold a pilots license. He has been up in couple of his planes riding in the gunners seat.

I'm keen to see the result of his current rebuild project -- the moa.

Mmm jury's out on that one.
Things go extinct, it's the way of things.
There's something charming about having eaten an entire species, sort of a warning not to do it again if you can help it.
