When in Rome

Just when I thought my collecting OCD was under control.....the Romans turned up.
It started with a 1/10 scale resin bust...and off I went....busts , 200mm figures, books, downloadable 3D printer files, wall art....you name it.
However, amid all this I've learned so much... even now, we owe so much to them..... things we take for granted like roads, political structure, concrete, underfloor heating, the calendar, and more.
So....In my quest for all things Roman, I have discovered a trove of temptations, from all corners of the globe.
I found a place in India that produces beautiful replica Roman helmets( miniature)....a guy in Cyprus doing 3D resin figures, ....Seems the Romans are still up there with collectors, as they should be.

Very nice, although for a minute I wondered if you were collecting novelty shaving brushes. I wonder what would happen if I gave that photo to my 3D AI?
Seems like it might be time to buy a 3D printer, Marty.

I was sorely tempted to post a clip from Monty Python's "Life of Brian"...but I will refrain.

Fantastic, Romans did stuff that took centuries to replicate: their self-healing concrete still isn't quite understood.

Must be the time of year, completely independently I posted about my display logshifter model, before seeing this.

On the subject of 3D printers, have you concluded work on the model railway project?

At the moment it is in storage, turns out my grandson was a bit young for it, and it kept getting wrecked:) Plus it takes up a lot of space. I will finish it one day, if circumstances change enough to accommodate it.
Funnily enough, yesterday I received email notification of a comment on an article I supplied to the NZ Railway Guild, 2 years ago, showing the development of the layout. I'd forgotten all about that. Felt a bit guilty that I never finished the layout.
