So, I had my english exam this morning, and it finished at 12.15. I had half a day to spare and some spare cash, so I went on down to the warehouse, and brought bf2142. I walk out, open up the case 2 hours later and find the booklet which has the cd key on it is missing. Now, I live 30km out of town, so I cant exactly just walk in there and get it. All I have inside the dvd case is a sticker saying "Booklet in draw. The Warehouse."

I dropped it off at a friends house, who is going to take it back tomorow and hopefully if they give it to him, get another booklet.

Stupid warehouse

Did you check in your drawer for it? Heh...

I would always check inside game boxes for manuals etc before I left the shop, but hindsight isn't any help to you now.

Oh well, when you stop playing 2142 in a month's time the 'no manual' incident will have been forgotten!

you think that's bad? one time I bought Unreal Tournament 2004 from Harvey Norman, it had 2x CD3 and no CD2!
Luckily I don't live too far from it.

The Warehouse are terrible for this problem, I checked my local Warehouse as I was told every copy of BF2142 had the booklet missing or the back page (with the CD key) ripped out and sure enough the few copies on the shelves had the back page torn out, staff new about it but kept on selling the game.

Isn't that illegal? They should get one big massive fine for that. Oh well the game isn't as good as BF2 Or BF1942 biggrin.gif

The Warehouse is just great in my opinion ,there is always something that i want from there ,
Now as for a booklet missing its like this ,"software"if its not sealed cheak it and make sure there is everything it say it has in the package ,also cheak to see if the cd is new without damage ,make sure it has the booklet "this is upto you man and is your mistake by leaving the store without doing these very basic things ,on the other hand if it is sealed software then buy all means complain to the warehouse as the are pretty good at replacing stuff even software if you have a good reason for asking why it was not in there .....
Now the warehouse gets nicked from on a daily bases , from outsiders and people that work there and even before the product gets there so you cant really blame them for not knowing that something is wrong with one product out of lets say a million or two that they stock ,,
Go back like you say to any Warehouse across the country and im sure they will see you right , yes thats a suxful thing to have to do but if you had cheaked it out before walking out the door , its like driving away from the car sale with three wheels and getting pulled over by the cops and blaming it all on the carsale dude ,, dry.gif

When the Warehouse is the largest retailer of computer and video games you can beleive they know there is a problem with stolen / missing booklets etc, they will still sell you this product, in fact they have been known to have clarence bins full of software, imported by themselves that were missing such things but knownly sold them at huge discounts and will not refund/replace due to the nature of the sale (of course the customer has the Fair trading act behind them, but how many people would know that)
I don't mean to sound like I'm knocking TWH as I shop there myself and happily as well, but when your in the know, your in the know....if you know what I mean...

Makes a lot of sense, the Warehouse is a little different from game stores, or music stores, in that the staff can't all be clued up on the intricacies of distributing software. That's why most of them have a special counter for that sort of thing, but even then with staff turnover I wouldn't expect the same level of help as I would from a games store, for instance. On the other hand there is a guy in one of the local warehouses here with a lot more knowledge and enthusiasm about games and DVDs than anyone at EB, for instance. But since he's so clued up I would expect him to move on to something better reasonably quickly.
I tend to buy music CDs from the warehouse, not a lot else. I would never leave without checking the CD for gouges -- but that goes for anywhere that they store the CDs in a drawer.

Indefence to stores that dont have the stuff in the cd cases: I'm a supermarket guy doing floor work to controling the front end, its NOT up to us to check it, its up to YOU so before u whine about it, think hmm, maybe i should have checked before i left..

Yeah... I have lost count of the times I have bought something at the supermarket without realising that the enthusiastic person setting up the end displays has put a thin slice in the packaging while cutting open cardboard boxes (even done it myself a couple of times when I used to work in a supermarket at high school)... It is quite annoying, and usually I notice it while putting stuff on the checkout conveyor... but I cannot really blame the supermarket for it...

Yes in the end you should have checked

But on the other hand this is unacceptable. The CD key is absolutely vital on most games (unlike Unreal lol)
