I have been unable to complete a flight, my problem is getting worse, I am thinking it is due to unsufficent power causing my computer to stop.

I would like to sell my power supply, and get a more powerfull one. It may solve the problems I'v been having. I'm quite short on funds, and want to go from a 450W to at least a 600W at as little cost as I can. If any one has a powersupply going cheap I would be interested, if I get a good offer on my 450W one, I may sell it and try to get a cheaper, more powerfull one.

What are my options here? Anyone interested in my powersupply?

Get an Enermax or a Silverstone if you are going to buy a new PSU... warning tho, they are a bit more expensive... but they are quality.

what makes you think its the PSU that is causing your problems? What are the specs on your machine?

I can't be sure if it is the problem, but I can't confirm what is causeing it, this may do it. Its worth a try, I did need a more powerfull one.

Don't buy one based on the wattage, if you can open up your PC case and post the amps of the +12v +5v and +3.3v rails then go from there.

The dodgy manufacturers make the 3.3v and 5v rails stupidly high and the 12v rail lacking because its cheaper and gets the same watt rating

What I've been told (I used to be into computer stuff in a big way a few years ago) is that the big-name brand Power supplies are far better than unknown or no-brand manufacturers. So a Silverstone PSU of 500W would be better than a no-name-brand PSU of 600W.

Apparantly no name brand psus are a bit dodgy. They can destroy a machine. Spend a bit more for something that will last and won't destroy your machine. Not saying a no name brand will but I've been told they can

Say James, how much are you looking to spend? Reason I ask is I may be selling mine on trademe in the very near future, as I also need to upgrade (Im going to a 650-700W one). Im thinking its probably going to sell for around $50-70.

Even buying one new will only set you back about $100, and it is a very very good PSU.

Also, dont get a no name one. You will kick yourself when it blows up and takes everything with it.
