Past Halfway I think :D

More 737s, including the 'Finished Product' Mexican AF 732.

This is about the quality the VA one's paint etc would look.

I might get into refitting old planes for the money in it! :P

Sad to see old DC-9's being broken up.

Anyone want a Herc?

Maybe you'd prefer an Orion/Prowler?

That's all for now, More planes in storage to come, and some more of the outdoor part of the Pima Museum.

Funny when you see so much waste , and put thought to the cost to build , for a company to put them out to graze , past thr airframe use , many times not , the B1 is interesting .. but then its probally have an older than 732's .. one heck of a place to visit , :)

Awesome pics - so this is whats like to go shopping for a second hand airliner - do you get a AA report and check the ownership and whether there is money owing etc???

Go on - go and get something different like an MD-80 to add some variety to NZs airspace!

Yeah, hey if they don't want that B-1.. New Wellington-Sydney in 1hr service?

Those Hercs etc are just mothballed, apparently it would only take 2 days to get them in the air again. Across the road was the proper graveyard, with KC-135s etc being broken up.

They don't fit in with ANZ's equipment which is a bugger- that MD-80 is all EFIS etc for only $4.5 million! Bargain! Also 732s are much cheaper to maintain, possibly because it's the worlds best selling airliner? :P

Great series VAC - as Naki says, it's a rare insight into shopping for a jetliner.
(Not to mention all the amazing peripheral goodies standing about! The Bone alone would be worth the trip.)
Think about it a moment, not too many places you'd get this kind of inside info...

All the Hercs etc sitting there, not sure where Avsim comes in though.

They're not sitting there ready for scrapping Will, the USAF simply doesn't need them at the moment, they will be brought back into service if/when they are needed.

How much would one of them cockpits cost?

Would make a fine addition to my bedroom (well once I get a larger one)

seriously, how much would just the cockpit cost? (any 733's there?)

Also was your dad able to hop into any of the aircraft that he wanted (the commercial ones?)

I dunno, a whole 732 is about $2.6 million I think. No 733's there that i know of, but the reason we're not getting one os they're about $10 million (for an average one, the 732 price is for an excellent condition one). So probably close to $1 million at a rough guess?

Yep, think so (at least the ones at Hamilton Aerospace's facility).

Real Cockpits and such , all dis-used equip , from the scrap priced between US$ 7 to 14,000 three years back , as mentioned .. you need the room :) DAMM :( ... then the task to get it looking and working in FS
