Not much to report as yet, it's meant to be faster, but no sign of that yet. I do like the 'awesome bar', kind of a history/bookmark finder, great for us oldies who forget what we had for lunch...

One really nice thing though is the PicLens plugin. This gives a different way of searching Google Images, Youtube etc, using a full-screen 3D browser. I might get sick of it one day, but at the moment this is a pretty cool way to find images/videos, or browse my son's Europe pics on Facebook.

Yep, I have it, and like it so far. Although sometimes with threads on NZFF I can't see pics until I open the thread a second time.

I've tried a couple of times so far today - but can't get through to mozilla.com. Either it's not working with FF (laugh.gif), or there's a lot of demand... smile.gif I'd be interested to see how v3 runs.

I don't think that's a prob with FF3 to be honest. I haven't upgraded to FF3 yet, and that's happening to me. I'm getting logged out too.

I might have to try FF3 though.

I only just upgraded to FF2 after getting my laptop- in fact I was throughly happy with FF1 for the last two years to be perfectly honest! I don't think I'll download #3 untill at least 2010 tongue.gif

Do you mean NZFF pictures (like banner, post icons, smileys etc), or external pictures (e.g. screenshots hosted on photobucket)? smile.gif

With the logging out issue, it might be a good idea to clear out your cookies - there could be a conflict with the previous cookies from the temporary URL. smile.gif

Sorry for thread hijack...

Fortunately, unlike FS, the latest version of this doesn't hog resources and demand a supercomputer to run!

I have it on Windows and the Mac version on my 'hackintosh' pc. Looking at the feature list, it's as thought they took all the really annoying parts of FF2 and made them better. It certainly seems like it's gonna be a really nice browser. Time will tell I guess. I hope they have fixed the memory hole that was FF2.

Photobucket shots. Also Gavin Conroy's A2A's.

It was screenshots hosted off-site. Fixed now, cleaned cookies as you said. Still hasn't fixed the log in problem..oh well, guess there's times we have to do a bit more when we don't have to haha.

Just installed FF3, haven't noticed much difference, maybe a tiny bit faster than FF2 though. I'll edit this tomorrow about the same time, post what I think after I've given it a good go.

I like it - seems snappier ... but I can't find FF3 themes and the default theme is too plain for me. Anyone got a link to new themes?

I didn't like the default either, done a little google search and found this

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... ,0&show=20

You have to search for ones compatible though, I found one I like.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/7

I had a quick look at my website stats today, just to check on how Firefox is doing market-share-wise. On my main site, Firefox accounts for 27% of visits, while Internet Explorer has 67%. However the sub-domain which represents the Godzone Store has Firefox just in the lead -- 50% as opposed to 48% for IE. I have no idea what this means -- Firefox users are more likely to buy scenery tongue.gif ??

I mentioned Piclens, an addon for Firefox, which lets you browse images or videos full-screen. Here's an idea of how it works.

On a Piclens-enabled site, such as Youtube or Google Images, you get a little arrow on each thumbnail: here's Jon's Youtube videos -- when I hover the mouse over the first thumbnail, I get the little blue box with the arrow. Clicking on this opens Piclens.

...and here's Piclens which pops up full-screen.

Clicking on a video will play it:

...and you can zoom in and out, scroll across the thumbnails...

Double-clicking a video will play it full-screen, with visible controls...

...which disappear after a few seconds to give a nice clean full-screen video.

Google Images works the same way, you can even play the images as a full-screen slide-show.

I've shrunk these screenshots considerably from the 1680x1050 originals, needless to say this looks stunning on my 22" monitor.

I've had it going for about a week now, beat the rush...

No complaints, no problems. I use Aquatint Black Gloss as a theme, brought it across from FF2 as an update. Might not be to everyone's taste though.

I just converted to Flock, so I'll have to wait until the FF3 goodies are ported over. I love PicLense though, I had it for a few weeks now and still use it, so it's not just a gimmick...

That's interesting. At NZFF IE has about 70% of the total, FF at about 25%, and a smattering of others make up the total... smile.gif

I've had a go at enabling the images from my site -- to check it out, visit mynews page, scroll down to thumbnail at the bottom of the left-hand column labelled 'This site is PicLens enabled!'
Someone without PicLens should try it as well, and tell me what happens.
