Hey Guys,

Just browsing trade me when I saw this.
Unfortunatly I dont have any room for it and the price tag isn't looking in my reach
Might be good for a someone though on here.

Yeah that guy runs a at home museum just out hams ,its been sitting on his lawn like that for years and is a nice site to see as you come up over the hill ,would hate to see what the moving costs would be etc .. remove the wings the eight wire fence would be a mission to get it out at a large cost to the bidder

Makes me wonder how people get their hand on stuff like this.
Would the cockpit builders here be interested?
I think I've seen it when driving into Hamilton.
Moving costs would be pretty big, you can see on the auction someone asked about costs to CHC and he says it would be taken apart and trucked. That would be quite expensive. Price tag is out of my reach too, but that's what loans and credit cards are for
I wonder if that would fit on our back lawn? Only just, but it would fit.
Or the reserve up the road - I'm sure Council would like a new playground for the neighbourhood kids.

Have you guys seen there is an old metroliner around Taupo/Reperoa?

The Bandeirante is one of my favourite aircraft. I love it. When I win lotto I will be sure to bid...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That would cost alot wouldn't it
It might be useful if someone want's to make a sim or something.

A flying one would be awesome, but you would have to store it and keep it airworthy and fuel it and everything else.
Maybe if you were rich and had lots of spare time it would be great.

I haven't seen one near Taupo or Reperoa but I have seen a plane on the roadside near Palmerston North.
I can't quite remember but I think it was a Bandeirante. Someone here posted some pics of it a while ago.

If I remember rightly, this aircraft (ZK-ERU) was the the third to be bought by Eagle Air (after ZK-CEF and ZK-DCH). It was donated to this museum in 2001, a real shame it wasn't properley hangared as fully restored would have been a great attraction in future years. It's sad that a place like MOTAT or the Hamilton Museum wasn't able to take this aircraft as the Bandeirante is now consigned to NZ regional aviation history....(oh and as play toys for the guys and gals at Air NZ's Engineering school).

Actually using these aircraft in engineering schools is making far better use than assigning them to museums, especially Motat. Motat are in possession of some very unique aircraft and struggle with volunteer labour and little professional help. Many of their aircraft are in very poor condition, although this has changed a tad since they built the big hanger a few years back.
