Well the place where I am boarding was only supposed to be temporary and just over a year later I'm finally jumping ship and shifting out all on my little lonesome hahahaha way to used to living with other people so living on my own will take a while to get used to lol.

The place I'm shifting too is right in the central city and only about 200m from where I work from so its convenient just been packing all night and of course the PC will be the last thing to go across so have had a lot to sort out like who I will get broadband from so if you guys have any suggestions on who would be the best and reasonably priced that offers a good GB planlet me know so I can sort it out.

And also I need some ideas on what to name my new place so far I have "Chop Chop's Pad" - "Squirrels Shack" - and just " The Pad". Any others I may add a little poll to see which comes out on top.

PS: Piccys too come soon.

Got WiFi??? just turn it on and see if anyone has a an unsecured wireless link... winkyy.gif

But seriously, anybody except Xtra... they suck... but for me it is free... so I cannot complain... oh... except for the fact that they still have not shifted me to ADSL2+... about 6 months after my exchange was upgraded... grrrr

If you have wireless do what HCP suggested.
Otherwise I would probably stay away from Xtra. What kind of usage are you looking at using?
As for the name of your place possibly something like Squirrels Hanger?
Good luck for the move smile.gif

I'll third the recommendation to avoid Xtra.
I quite like Slingshot. Sometimes they have absolutely terrible speeds and when they go down they really go down, but they usually have excellent ping and the speeds are usually excellent.
Like the others they have the odd issue, but my experience with them has been fairly good.
They also have free off peak traffic from 1am to 7am or something which is good. I've also heard good things about Xnet, Snap, Orcon and TelstraClear Cable.
Good luck for your new place by the way.

Hahaha thanks guys I have been looking into Slingshot and for $39.95 a month I would normally be getting 5GB but can get either $10 extra on Tolls or an extra 10GB a month.

Yip that's quite a good deal Slingshot's doing, especially for someone who uses a lot of internet or someone who makes lots of toll calls.
Still not as good as the old 25GB plans like I've got, but those went away ages ago and don't get any special deals like this $10 thing and a few other features.

what speed is that brownbox? ADSL or cable? Either way, great price.

We are upgrading to iinet, in Aussie we pay, $69.95pm, 20GB Peak Downloads, 15GB Off Peak, Unlimited Uploads, 24mpbs ADSL2+ connection, free VoIP with unlimited national and local calls. Nothing beats downloads at 3mbps smile.gif

Hey Guys I'm all shifted in took about half an hour to get everything in and 10x that to unpack lol.

Having to use the Internet Cafe just around the corner till Telstra send a techy out to sort the phone then Slingshot will give me free Dial-Up till the Broadband is set-up.

Started work 2100 Thursday (the day I moved in) and all up from 2100 Thursday till 2000 Today I have worked 47 hours it has been one hell of a 4 days.

Well I'll talk to you all as soon as I'm all connected at home.

LOL sorry I forgot to add the choice of name I ended up going with an ICAO style code which was NZSP aka "NZ-Squirrels Pad" it's short and sweet hahaha.

Less than 12hours there I got bombarded by a group of 10+ chicks in town screaming "look its our new neighbour" while I was at work.
