After a bronze to Drysdale and another to the woman's men's pair (sorry, can't think of names off the top of my head); Georgina and Caroline won their final in the double. Very close, went right to a photo finish - I thought that Germany got across first, but no, was NZ by 0.01s. Had a couple of laughs at the commentary by the PJ chap there, he got a bit confused... laugh.gif

Yeah hopefully more tonight with Valerie and Hayden! - it is the men's pair (Twaddle and Bridgewater) Alex not the womens who got bronze.

Fantastic lot of competition this evening, have only just turned off the television. I don't think I can stay up late enough to see Valerie (hopefully) get gold...

Especially proud of Mahe after what he's struggled through, and without his illness, who knows, he would probably have got gold. Great job by him though to get the bronze. I wish him a speedy recovery...he can take a well earned rest now!

Women's pair were unlucky, not quite there...

Good row by the Men's pair to get another bronze.

Then the fantastic race by the Evers-Swindell twins. One of the closest races ever. I honestly though the Germans had beaten the Kiwis, but thankfully the photo showed otherwise.

Also well done in the cycling. Greg Henderson didn't do as well as I expected, but a silver to Hayden Roulston was a pretty awesome achievement for him; didn't miss out on the gold by too much...

Finally, again...good luck to Valerie competing later this morning. She should get the gold there!

(Also thought Phelps had been pipped to the post in the 200m butterfly this afternoon. 1/100 of a second...close!).

Great stuff!
There was some good action on the Olympics last night.
I was watching the Evers-Swindells, and at first I thought the Germans had got across just in front and the commentator's mistake confirmed they had, which was a bit disappointing. The photofinish said otherwise though, only just but enough to count. thumbup1.gif At least we have some medals now.
Mahe's race was quite good too, a little bit disturbing at the end when he found himself having medical problems sad.gif.
Glad he recovered though.

laugh.gif Did you see the German chicks that came 2nd to the Evers-Swindell twins? Wouldn't want to meet one of them in a dark alley.. One of them could kill a man with their jaw alone!

Ooh I hadn't heard about that.
Good work New Zealand athletes thumbup1.gif
We don't get tons of medals and the sports we're good have gone or are on now, but I think we've done pretty well really.

And the sailing as well, I think?

We're in the lead for at least one of the sailing events...
