Had an urgent request for 5 Grid Marshalls, Saturday and Sunday only.

You'll be working on the dummy grid sorting the cars in the right order before they get let out onto the track for their positioning lap. I'm reliably informed that when you're not doing that you'll have a good view of the track.

The only cars you don't get to play with are the V8 Supercars as they come out of the infield pits, although once they get around their positioning lap onto the actual grid on the track they get told where to stop by - you guessed it - Grid Marshalls so anything's possible.

We need to put the names in by lunchtime today (yeah, I laughed too). Well, actually we just need to order the shirts by lunchtime today. We've got until about 6am Friday morning to get the names in. We've taken a punt and said we'll be supplying people who take XL or L shirts. Accommodation is available if required.

So, if you are 15 or over, can do both Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 April, and want to get more up close and personal with the cars than anyone else except their teams .....

..... contact me by email (chairman at ihug dot co dot nz) or text (o21 833 2oo) or PM and put your hand up !

You MUST include :
- Your first and last name (and your username here so I know who you are)
- your email address
- your contact phone number (prefer mobile so we can text it)
- your shirt size (prefer L or XL laugh.gif )
- confirmation that you're 15 or over and can do both days

Cheers
Gary

Hmm ... The Aussie and NZ v8supercar and the Hamilton council sites all seem to think it's the 17-19 April. I'll give you the 18/19 instead of the 17/18 though, that's me remembering dates instead of looking them up laugh.gif

Cheers

Pretty sure these jobs have now gone - just waiting for VAC to send me some details of who he's bringing and that's a wrap.

Due to one of our team becoming unavailable we need to find another pit lane marshall. The actual job the poor guy was listed for was speed gun report runner, so it would help if we can find someone else who is pretty fit - it's a long way up the stairs to deliver those reports If stairs aren't your thing we can swap people around between jobs and get you a ground level job as a pit lane safety marshall keeping an eye on the teams. Whatever you end up doing you'll be trackside, and only dealing with the public for pitwalks.

If we can get someone who is a shirt size L or XL that's another plus as the shirts are already ordered. Breakfasts are supplied (not lunches this year as far as I can see), and of course your passes.

Whoever does it MUST be available for all three days, and ideally also for the official briefing - there's one in Hamilton on Monday 30th March and one in Auckland on Thurs 2 April. Dormitory accommodation with a couple of distant places to get away from the snorers is available if required.

Anyone keen ? If so please reply here or in a PM or email with your name, contact phone, email, shirt size, age, whether you'll need accommodation, and confirmation that you can do all three days.

Cheers
Gary
