i bought a massive beast the other day. its the HP Pavilion DV9000 (laptop...)

its a beautiful machine but its too big for me, i want portability and the 17" widescreen just doesnt say that. lol im after something small but powerfull like a Dell blah blah (cant think of its name)

specs:

System has an aftermarket Hitachi Hard drive. Very high end hard drive, highly acclaimed for being one of the quietest running hard drives on the market in comparison to the amazing speeds. Runs at 7200rpm, making boot times short and loading times unnoticeable.

Boasts a heavy hitting nvidia 8600 video card with 2.3GB of video memory!!! 512MB of that is dedicated.

Has space for an extra hard drive for extra storage.

Has a wicked fingerprint scanner for logging in. You can set it up for multiple users.

Has a full sized keyboard with a numeric pad.

Display is a 17" WXGA to view movies and high resolution gaming. Pushing the resolution too 1440 x 900. Also has HDMI and VGA output for feeding video to larger screens like your TV. Will happily supply high end second hand cable if the winner of the auction wishes.

Beautiful Altec Lansing Sound System outputs great sound for gaming and movies.

Inside the machine you will find the following;

Intel Penyrn 2.5GHZ Dual Core.
3GB Ram.
nVidia 8600 with 512MB dedicated memory and 2.3GB total video memory.
Internal DVD+/-RW Duo Layer, lightscribe.
1.3MP web camera and microphone for web conversations.
Wi-Fi Wireless 802.11g.
Altec Lansing Sound System.
5-in-1 Reader: SD, MS/Pro, MMC, XD.

Input/Output as follows;

HDMI
3x USB2.0.
Firewire.
S-Video Out.
VGA.
Infrared.
Express slot.
Audio In.
2x Audio Out.

Package comes with manuals and everything else the laptop came with down to the charger and battery

its running Windows Vista Ultimate 64-Bit but im sure most of you would wipe and replace so thats not a bother

Body has no scratches on it what so ever. Screen has no markings what so ever

In basically perfect condition. Never moved from desk and run with battery removed nearly it's whole life

I'm broke - so not really "in the running" ... but I'm interested to know whether it ran MSFS at all. If so ... FS9, FSX?

Any ideas of what you're hoping to get for it?

i sold my copy of FS ages ago cos i was frustrated with re re re re installing it but i think it would run it fairly well. its higher spec than my PC and my pc ran it at round 20FPS on medium high

i dont know what im after, enough for a fairly decent laptop new or otherwise so i guess 1500 area. the same model with worse/same specs is being sold on TM for well over 1500

TM: auction 216913498 basically the same, worse in some areas better in others etc

i would put this on trade me but id forking out MASSIVE success fees so better to do it privately
