Traffic was amazing.

I was one of the first to arrive, and it wasn't all that busy then, but when flying the return I looked on IvAe and there were, honestly, probably well over sixty aircraft flying in the opposite direction towards EFRO, and about half that heading away from EFRO.

After landing, I managed to log on as observer when that mass of aircraft were ready to make the approach - some were holding for probably 20-30 minutes, but all very well handled by the ATC up there spacing etc, which made it a very memorable event :)

I recall one VA in particular had 30 aircraft flying in as well which was pretty cool.

The only downside to the event was that there was no snow in the air; just bits of low cloud :( - plenty of snow on the ground though, so there was just enough time to make a snowman before heading off again :P

Nice stuff, I suppose you can count on a decent turnout on those (our) early events over there. :)

Gotta love the ole' Finnair MD-11 there, you have shown it off with a nice variety of angles there Matt, good job

I also love the 3D appoach lights that come with the FSNordic scenery, although I had no idea EFRO could handle aircraft as big as that!

Yep, I believe in real life it is regularly serviced by 757/321 (see pics on airliners.net), and it has a 3000m runway.

Yesterday we had everything from a C172 to Concorde making an appearance :)

I was just checking and there sure are a large variety of planes that visit Rovaniemi! I also noticed that the Finnair 'F' logo is reversed on the right hand side of every one of thier aircraft's tails- I thought it was just an error with the repaint of your MD11 but I stand corrected! Weird ay?
