Virtual Aerobatics

Post and comment on screen captures from the beautiful game here. Home of the monthly screenshot competition

Ingredients:

1. Print off aerobatic maneuvre schedule from the internet - I got one from Wkipedia

2. Select suitable aircraft - in my case I am using the fantastic payware Realair ACA Decathlon (can spin) - freeware alternatives include the LIC Eagle (no probelms with this one), Samdim CAP-10 (bit tricky I suspect) and Airhead Decathlon

3. Dial up a fine day - I am using RL weather but no problems here in the sunny Bay of Plenty

4. Empty aircaft of unnessary fuel and payload - does wonders with the aircrafts performance

5. Climb to at least 3000ft and then away you go - my attempts were a bit sloppy and need a lot more practise

Cant remember what screenshot was of what maneuvre (except the obvious Cuban Eight - bit sloppy) but they include (there were several attempts of some of the same maneuvres):

- Cuban Eight

- Half Cuban Eight

- Reverse Half Cuban Eight

- Hammerhead Stall Turn

- Immelman

- Split S

- Inside Loop

- Outside Loop

- Spin

- English Bunt

- Tailslide

- Snap Roll (had truobles with this)

Must also try a Lomcevak sometime

...and safely down

As Ian said: FU was the ONE for aerobatics - one of their promotion lines was that you cannot do a snap roll in MSFS, which I've found to be true enough.
An English Bunt, Paul ohmy.gif - wossat??

Favourite is still the Christen in JAG drag (as some may recently have noticed dry.gif )
Cockpit animations still fascinate - watch the gauges, here in spot view:

Cool video Charl - yea the LIC Eagle is great for aerobatics and its the most commonly one used in the Virtual World Aerobatic champs (yes there is such a thing!). What happened to your great screenshot comp pic - was it censored!??

English Bunt - is a Half outside loop starting from upright, straight and erect flight (The pilot pushes the stick forward and draws a half circle in the sky from the top down).

Umm I guess there'd be a roll back to right side up, otherwise landing might be a problem... laugh.gif Anything Immelman can do, we can do - in mirror!
