To Fernando Herrera, the man behind 'Carenado'- thanks very much for the 172N model you sent me, which I'm keen to test out against the real thing out of Ardmore.

Today though- I took it up for a bit of a blat, just for fun, around some CB storms over the Solomans:

Thus far, my only flights have been in the Garmin Glass Cockpit -XAT which is quite different obviously from the above panel, however, this one's great practice for understanding how the traditional gauges operate and whatnot... anyone keen to create an AFS repaint? tongue.gif

"EOX" scheme would suit the Carenado 172 been a "N" model not a "R" or "S" - nice shots

I would love to see an -EOX for flight simulator. The pride of the AFS fleet. biggrin.gif

Incidentally, that Carenado 172 is remarkably good in terms of how it flies - given that the default 172 feels nothing at all like the real thing, this one is surprisingly good, it even stalls quite realistically.

I've heard -EOX is the only carburetted 172 in the fleet, and for this reason, you're allowed to take it away longer than one night for personal use compared to the high demand fuel injected rest of the fleet- is there any truth to this rumor Leo?

It's not so much the carb heat side of things as much as the fact that it's about 25 years older than all the other 172s in the fleet I think. It does have some advantages over the non-G1000 172s though, such as dual comms and a (basic) GPS.
