So, to continue our journey, we taxi off from the ramp at Myrtle Creek Airport and take off into the beautiful warm sky.

We look out over Myrtle Creek township, wave goodbye, and continue our journey west towards the coast.

But wait.... In typical woman fashion, Heidi decides she needs to use the facilities. Problem is I have none on board! Never fear, the map is here! I open it up and tell her to guide me to the nearest strip. We end up landing at Flournoy Valley.

I sit and wait with the engine ticking over while she does her "thing" (check out Rose!).

Ok, lined back up. Check out that view before takeoff!!! Up and away we go, continuing our journey west over the hills and mountains.

Well, both me and Heidi got a tad bored way up in the stratosphere at 4000ft
So we did some aerobatics and took a dive down towards the valley where Coos River flowed! We knew it would take us to the coast, so we followed it closely. Was awesome fun and the Cub really showed its true colours zipping over the river between the valley sides.

Eventually the land flattened around the river and the river edge was adorned by beautiful country homes.

We made it to the river mouth where the cities of Coos Bay and North Bend are situated. You can see the big mud flats and North Bend Municipal Airport.

Over in the hills to the north we find a quiet airstrip to land on.

The engine stalled on touchdown
Don't tell Heidi but I think it was because I forgot to turn on the carb heat during descent! Luckily it started again without too much hassle, though we did look a bit newbie hand cranking a Cub in the middle of the runway.

Parked up. Tied down. Heidi and I are off to find some food!
