Operation 'Bothways' .. With the limitations of the Flightsim its time to turn it around - Screen Versa Camera

Great Idea Charl ... Think I'll make a screenshot that's impossible to photograph, instead!

Looking for the best off the best , still by all means go for the Sim V Real cool.gif

You only need that one shot , time to come from both directions and equal Gavin with his photos .

Bet Gavin doesn't have some nice music when he's shooting those air-airs.
And his seat will be jumping about, no nice blower heater to take the chill off a winter morn.
All these things make me happy to be a flightsimmer, just press the button...

I use FRAPS for screenshots, only later in the piece realised I'd tripped the video.
Pick your own screen if there is one, absolutely nothing happens, just fly along, pretend your name is Gavin.
And only if you don't mind Jackson Browne.

While we are on the subject of Seasprites..IMV they should of got Super Lynxes..at least there is a larger population of those out there...only 3 Navys use Seasprites. Great shots BTW

I suspect we were somewhat influenced by the Australian buy, cannily cancelled in 2008 (?)
Can an NH90 land on our frigates??

The RAN only cancelled their Seasprite order in the last year. IIRC the RNZN Seasprites were bought in the belief they would have commonality with RAN Seasprites, which was bit silly really as the RAN Seasprites were full of fancy glass cockpits and gizmos in an old ex US Navy airframes whilst ours were new airframes with proven technology with not much commanlity at all. In the end the RAN and Kaman ran into way too many problems and canned the project. The hot rumour is that we may get their cast off Seasprites at a bargain price but presmably this is for spares only?

The RAN have since have ordered SH-60Rs to replace the cancelled Seasprites and the SH-60Bs. The NFH-90s were in the running for this order keeping in mind that they were trying to keep helicopter types down to a minimum but I think they preferred an off the shelf and proven system after problems with the Eurocopter NH-90 and Tiger.

..and yes I believe an NFH-90 will fit our frigates (maybe some mods required)...but the Agusta/Westland Wildcat (new version of Lynx) and SH-60R would be cheaper and I believe a better fit.

I am not so sure as Eurocopter were promoting and were in the running with the NFH-90 to fit on and in the RAN Anzac Frigates

So why did they simply not buy your Agusta/Westland product years ago ... we have two frigates and the offshore patrol which can handle the SH-2G , as for hanger mods rolleyes.gif yeah Right !

Along with pithy comments, you're quite the screenshooter. Never have been much for hopticopters but those shots make a very positive statement.
