The MR-2 , weird , i was drawing comet airframes back at Avonhead Primary school , yip the wing has not changed and the fuselage , well something borrowed .

In my opinion the Nimrod is the staunchest Military aircraft ever designed....love it Marty outstanding pics thumbup1.gif

Great screenies Marty!!!

Was just reading an article about the Nimrods in a mag recently, amazing to think that it was based on the Comet, and that the UK until as late as last year were seriously close to giving the fleet a makeover to extend their life even further, that woulda meant a 60yr old airframe design/influence still in active service, awesome stuff, bit like the good ole' B52 in that regard I guess

Thanks deeknow....yep, a pretty amazing bird. I can still hear the noise they make when they power up for take off....painful , but nice.....and smoke for miles winkyy.gif

Same here Ian....but at another school....i loved those things on the end of the wings....they looked like "little comets".....what were they anyway....?
