Real NZ Wellington 'patch'...

Post and comment on screen captures from the beautiful game here. Home of the monthly screenshot competition

One of the problems with the Real NZ Wellington aerial image was the poor quality aerial around Mt Crawford as you head north from the airport -- the forested area is just a blue blob. I've always said I'd fix this when I could, and since I'm working on a brand-new Wellington, now would be the idea time.

This shouldn't take long now -- I just have to fix the issues for NZSI users (yes, I know Wellington isn't in the South Island). This will just cover the peninsula, but it will be a preview of what to expect with the new Wellington -- based on 50cm textures. For the peninsula 'fix', I'll include a 1 metre elevation mesh, just to show what it looks like, but I'm not too sure what DEM I'll include in the new Real NZ Wellington.

So, this will be an update for Real NZ Wellington, plus a preview of the completely new Real NZ Wellington. The peninsula fix will be ready shortly, the new Wellington will take a bit longer....

Screenshots include the existing Real NZ Wellington (beyond the peninsula), with FTX Oceania region active, which changes the tree textures.

Looks FANTASTIC!!

The coast line is awesome! I am guessing that that water is from the REX package? (I do not have REX).

You can't see the wind -- real weather at the time, 31 gusting to 46, from memory... where else but Wellington?

Yes, I don't remember the last time I flew without REX... the one addon I'd recommend if you could only afford one.

That is AWE-SOME!!! The Miramar Peninsular was my old stompin' ground as a lad, and it was always a bit disappointing
seeing the large black blob when taking off from Wgtn in FSX, but now ... WOW!

Looking forward to the update, Thanks Rob.

My dad spotted me trolling through the forums and saw those screens, he worked as a prison guard on the hill for about ten years before he shipped off to Rimutaka. He was shocked at the realism and detail of the whole thing.
