I much prefer my original shot (as a picture) but I think the replacement at least shows a bit more mountain terrain (which I think NZSI does well). These voters can be fickle beasts though, eh? ;)

I know what you mean, I'd hate to try and second-guess screenshot comp voters. But I think you are right to head the way you have, although there are a lot of mountain shots in the comp so far. I've therefore given up my original plan of a glacier shot, and at the moment I'm trying a few shots on my desktop, to see which one rises above the rest. The front-runner so far is um, 'unusual', my flatmate hates it, because it isn't colourful enough, which is fine by me....

My inspiration came from a winning banner on NZFF -- one of Naki's.

Good luck!

Thanks for the best wishes winkyy.gif ... as far as yours goes - if you've narrowed it down to something like a two-horse race, stick them up here and see what reaction you get. I've done that in the past, when a bit undecided. I don't always follow the suggestions (!!) but it usually triggers a new approach. People often see things that you missed (or vice-versa).

The way the voting was organised surprised me a bit, restricting the vote to only those who entered, and making votes public. I think this might have caught a few people out, especially the 16 who entered but haven't voted...

Still, at least I'm still in with a chance -- one vote behind the 2 tied leaders -- so anything could happen if the 'missing' voters turn up over the weekend wink.gif

I don't think the votes should have been public. I prefer the way ours works - where you only see the scores *after* you've voted.

On nzff you can select to see votes before voting, option is down the bottom from memory or you just log out ,i have been looking before voting here for years ,never changes my mind on what i think looks best , Deenow of course was the recipient of my vote last month ,honestly i dont think it matters much knowing the votes on each before placing your own
