Novemeber Prize - C208B Grand Caravan

I've always coveted most of the aircraft in the Carenado hangar, but have only been able to afford to buy a couple up to now, so this prize is greatly appreciated! I really wanted the C185F Skywagon or a souped-up C172 II but settled on the C208B Grand Caravan instead! I can't explain why I like these "workhorses" (BN-2 Islander, Cresco etc.) ... maybe because I'm just too embarrassed by the flashy "boys' toys" look of many of the other GA aircraft winkyy.gif

I dug out some stunning NZ repaints while I was at it ... repaint by Jankees Bloom - NZFSIM Entry here

Carenado are well-known for the quality of their VC cockpits - the C208B lives up to it!

Around the Sounds ... then a quick trip up North ... repaint by Daniel Trevers - NZFSIM entry here.

The "Sounds Air" Caravan over Picton ...

A Carenado-Ultimate Traffic2 AI stand-off! Repaint by Jankees Bloom.

This C208B is a stunning product. Lots of attention to detail (everywhere you look) - they really have put a lot of effort into this one. I can't vouch for the flight model (having never been near a real '208) but it feels "right" - not twitchy and doesn't have the ridiculous roll rate (and lack of inertia) that so many FSX aircraft appear to have. In short, it's a joy to "fly" thumbup1.gif

Credit to all concerned in keeping up the great NZFF tradition of *amazing* prizes - and a BIG thank-you to Carenado in particular for my Caravan!

Looks very nice Adam - congrats on your well deserved prize. Looks like that model might have to go in my "wish list" too...

Great stuff Adam. I know what you mean about the Caravan, I just bought it last week, loving it, lovely VC as you say, and you just have to LOVE the sound of that turbo-prop startup/shutdown sequence
