It would be ideal for the the local US simmer , to have all this and use to build on it , airports and the towns , the many states , think of just the central area packaged as one , i'd guess that would be an impressive site , one question is how well do they join to each other ? that would be a site to see.

Wonderful screen shots!

...but as a Low and Slow flyer, I am always a bit wary of Photographic scenery like this... >>>> http://www.megasceneryearth.com/store/cart...MegaScenery_2_0

With no default or custom Auto-gen objects, I often wonder what it looks like at ground level, with no 2D and 3D objects?

I remember Flight Unlimited II with its flat, Photo scenery!

I have always avoided Photographic scenery since then.

Fantastic at hight altitudes, but not at ground level...when landed?

What do you reckon?

Yep, its flat at ground level... well assuming there are no hills or mountains around... These still show as hills and mountains (and valleys etc too) - i.e. you still see terrain mesh and the real textures give a representation of terrain mesh at an extremely fine level of detail, even if the actual mesh file is a lower resolution. Just look at the screenshots of some of the mountains and imagine what level of mesh detail would be needed to match that effect with default FSX textures!... but yes, no autogen. Autogen and photoreal doesn;t really mix too well over large scales... sure, for a small photoreal area it works, but over large scales it is impractical, difficult and it looks quite bad. Photoscenery like MegaSceneryEarth however, is an ideal platform to build other scenery upon as it is readily compatible with almost any object-oriented scenery like airports or even cityscapes. Being REAL scenery, you can also use it to fly VFR off real charts with a high level of accuracy. Frame rates are also superb (since there is no autogen to chew them up).

It's not for everyone, but its popularity is certainly growing by the day!

With the right graphics settings, the textures can appear in full resolved detail as low as 1200 ft AGL.... so if you fly 100% of the time below 1200ft AGL, then this is probably not for you... Anything above that and you will benefit greatly from photoreal scenery!

All USA .. BUT ! ... the thing is i've always been a advocate for photo-real .. i simply believe with a source - build on it , Megascenery2 - I notice one this morning

Size: 1,895,819 Date: 05-27-2013 Downloads: 173

FSX Scenery--Beaver County Airport in western Pennsylvania (PA), USA, northwest of Pittsburgh. Complete remake of BVI (ICAO: KBVI). Compatible with default FSX scenery and MegaScenery Earth 2.0 PA. By Thomas M. Lewis.

Best example of running FPS would be our NZFF teams Christchurch photo-real and would be interesting to hear peoples recommends on frames .. don't forget , even with a high density area you have the slider to adjust to suit your PC/System/Rig ....
