Took off from Woodbourne, across the field, to be directly into the wind (35kts and gusting). The tail came up almost as soon as I opened the throttle.
Set sail for NZWN, and just as I sighted the coast, along came a massive downpour. Heaps of fun, specially when I actually landed well, and on the runway, mainly because the GS was about +20mph.
Very scary early on, with the old girl bucketing about in every direction. Dead chuffed that I was able to control it , on the instruments.
The weather was pretty disastrous for the framerates, but that was expected, and not as bad as I had feared.
