How hard is it to cast a vote ? In case your not sure ... just log on , find this thread and click on the shot you like , should take you all of a minute.... if that.

Its up to us to make it exciting , screw a cap on on and turn on ideas ... very much the same doing scenery .. long and arduous but results people need it .. Keep plugging and whine/winded peoples up .. old saying you become an ambassador to an idea , things won't change if we walk away .. they will only change with that thought.

Voting and Screens , Now coming into the tenth year , Ive seen all sorts off changes so many expectations are still to move.

What am i missing? Why do people join NZFF?
Is it
1. To learn about technical issues they can use in their own sim?
2. To learn about NZ scenery and aircraft?
3. To meet and talk to people from another country about a mutual interest?
4. Something else?

like you guys, i cant understand why voting turnout is so low!
I admit I am only starting to take screenshots myself, but there are some real talented people who regularly contribute, and deserve recognition!

Oh well, thats my 2c worth...

edit: maybe we should run a poll to find out why, but then again maybe no-one would bother responding...

John I look at it this way , its simply being part off the community .. the biggest thing many maybe washed or ashamed or think its a place where peoples think they are going to be shot down .. JUST RECENT the forum had a huge clean out and many simply did not return and there are others who returned .. I mentioned the 10th year coming the next 2016 , and the change off format

"Why do people join NZFF? " , We are not doing to badly, its now transformed into a very technical help desk, the help is almost instant and now today we have a quick chat and a Team Speak channel ...

With me, the amount off members over the years who have stopped here or simply just visited is another reason I will stick to it , I what I give and its Bloody fun able to share.... One that hit the record books , Adrian Petford .. all the way from the UK ,

We went across to Lyttleton , I showed him the areas , one the infamous 'Victoria Park' of the Hume murders in the late 1950s all the way to Robs place ... course early that week, the repeated journeys to Wigram RNZAF museum.

The list off venue and people .. even heading out to the airport .... :)

Ian, pls dont get me wrong... I dont think NZFF is doing badly, the fact that it is still here is a credit to all involved!
What i dont understand is the low voting, but maybe it is just that most people dont see that as an "interesting" side of flight sim...

That is still a strange thing ... maybe they are slightly intimidated ... I cannot see the reason for that .

I can see why people could feel intimidated by entering the comp, especially if you don't have gorgeous Godzone scenery or FTX, or high quality aircraft to show off... but voting in it is anonymous and easy...

That is an area I thought may have been the suggestion, lack off scenery or brilliant models .. we see them everywhere , I'm very sure I don't think its that , you are right in regard to the voting , ........... I leave this PC running during the hours I'm drawing ... or even hell when I go to the shop .. , see 5 peoples names and 20 hiding .. almost like they are embarrassed to be here .. but I have to think many are at work .. , then the different times zones has a real affect ..

Well, what you see from me is 100% screenshot - I don't have the gear or the skills to combine RW and sim. I see the comp as a screenshot comp, not a graphics arts comp, but I enjoy all of it, and sometimes I even get a vote or two...
In the Community Discussion forum, there is a thread about the Screenie Comp (because that is a different topic from the actual Comp thread). I stated my views there, but I shoulda copy/pasted before I started this reply

As Zebedee used to say to Florence and Dougal "It's time for bed" :D

The biggest thing is to enjoy your own work , I hi-lighted this because what you see is totally different to what others see .... I , as you if on the forum may no been invited to teach art/drawing this next Monday .... rule No.1 , if your happy what your result .. Sorry guys and gals no names going up yet as at this stage there is a tie for first place of 6 entries (a quarter of the total entries) so at midnight if there is no change this poll will close and some time in the early hours when I get it sorted there will be another poll with those 6 entries opened for approx 48 hrs it will close at midnight Sunday 7th hopefully the runoff poll will determine the top three places.
