When Pres. Rob comes to Dunedin...

Postby toprob » Sun Oct 16, 2016 9:16 pm

...in my gold-plated 737, the poor Aussies have to walk across the tarmac -- a busy day at NZDN today, but only because I was testing the airbridges all day. After a minor hiccup, I've managed to get both bridges activated by SODE, which is a big relief to me.

Dunedin is on track for a release early next month. Don't forget to pre-purchase, and don't forget that when Dunedin is released, the Subscription will be permanently retired in its present form, so don't put off your subscription too long!

Cheers, guys. Marty, there'll be no subscription renewal ever, as the subscription didn't really do well enough. Subscribers will continue to get benefits in the form of 'Real NZ' scenery products covering the existing Subscription areas -- so anything I release for Wellington, Bay of Plenty, Central Plateau, Alps, Southern Lakes or Hawkes Bay will be free to subscribers.

Initially I hope to be able to release two major Real NZ scenery products which will fall into this category -- Real NZ Wellington, and Real NZ Napier/Hastings, but of course this depends on things going smoothly. Future releases which don't build on the Subscription scenery will tend to be smaller scale, which hopefully will mean quicker releases.

At the moment I'm just pushing the Subscription so that when I retire it next month, I don't get people saying they missed out -- this happened last time, which is why it's back in the Store for a while. It's still good value, but I'd rather get back to single Real NZ releases, which are easier to explain:) So when Real NZ Dunedin is released, the Subscription will become very low-key, with access for existing subscribers only, everyone else will need to wait until the 'Real NZ' products are finished to get the included scenery.
