Looking good! Is that the A2A model?

I watched the discovery age of aerospace series recently and have a new found interest in the b17. Can't believe they made almost 13000 of them so quickly.

Nick, that is the Areoplane Heaven/Just Flight B-17F model , yeah the number built are amazing and so were the loss's, ... then the later B-24 that first flew in 1939 , at wars end , 18, 500 plus of all variants ... Don't Wake the Sleeping Giant B-)

Thanks gents ..... this was an early Christmas prez from the big I.W .... thanks again fella

Its a fantastic visual model .... silly things draw me too , or push me away from some models. The first thing I look for is glazing (windows , canopy's etc ) and reflection.
If that's not present , then it's moved down the list ... odd I know , but I know what I like.

This model (for me ) makes the grade in that area ... that nose is just perfect .... as is the rest , a visual (screenshot) feast.
Dynamics have never interested me ... how would I know how a B-17 handles ... so I don't worry about it .... Im 100% VFR ^_^
However, I'm sure those that need the "feel" will be happy as well .

Thanks for looking.

The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress was known to be so docile, reason the crews love them ... also the fact they could take some very serious heavy damage , some aircraft that returned and legend begun ... It was also know that if both pilots were killing and top gunner/engineer brought the aircraft back, amazing war stories even go to a well known one were a German fighter escorted one till the North Sea and it made it back ... LEGEND !

Thanks Dani :) that odd paint was used on the aircraft the other bombers would form up the formation on.
First time I've seen it ... really stands out :o
You may noticed that the aircraft in the second shot is painted in German colours. ....evidently one or two were captured. ..how i don't know, if it's true.

There were quite a few really weird paints put on the squadrons formation ships ... a B-24 painted in 'poker dots' you not think they were at war.

They had numerous captured B-17s, they operated with KG200 , the Luftwaffe clandestine squadron, from memory this one was "Phyllis Marie" , the second B-17F intact was "Wulf Hound" tho the outta port propeller was a German one with a smaller diameter.
