Aerofly FS2 Freeware airfield+scenery

Thanks to author 'Rodeo' this is available from the downloads section of the IPACS Forum. Omak (KOMK) is a remote back-country strip in north central Washington State. As well as the airfield with its realistically few buildings, you get a large chunk of the surrounding country side which has been cultivated with some 233k hand-placed trees.
The d/load is a zip of a tad more than half a GB. Clear instructions made the install as easy as
The buildings, airport objects and vehicles look fine to me.

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

So good to see such an erudite and interested community for this sim!
NZ beckons...

Did you figure out if you can put scenery in NOT the Windows drive?
My SSD will fill up too fast with the bigger file sizes.

Haven't investigated that, Charl. On MiniBeast I just ran the installer, which put the main programme in C: and another set of AFS2 folders in C:\users\Ghanpa\My Documents, which is where the main one sends the screenies, and where I placed the KOMK files, as instructed. Of course Win7 is on C: as well.
When I get a new SuperBeast, I won't be putting the OS on an SSD - they don't like repeated read/write operations. Great for write once/read many, though.

Yes, you can. You have to edit the file main.mcf under

C:\Users\[your profile]\Documents\Aerofly FS 2

Look for the line

<[string8][extra_user_folder][]>

and modify it, I set it to

<[string8][extra_user_folder][h:\ipacs]>

I didn't try it with the Rodeo scenery yet, but I placed my own homemade scenery there and it works. Details are somewhere buried in the IPACS forum.

Kind regards, Michael

A few more pics to show the nice detail in the Omak scenery.
