another favourite, The Brandenburg W.12, designed by Ernst Heinkel. The Dutch Naval Air Service used them until 1933.
Theirs were built under licence by the Van Berkel company in Rotterdam.

Love those twin pipes on the RE-8 :D How was the wing gun fired? - did the gunner stand on the pilot's shoulders, or what? :ph43r:

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

Wow - the detail on those aircraft ... quite unbelievable!!! Great shots too, as ever!

Thanks for looking gents ...and Adam :P
Mike , Im not sure , but there was some kind of mechanism in the cockpit linked to the gun.
This is option available in the mission planning part of the sim (over wing Lewis gun) , so Im just assuming its correct.

Its also an option on some of the German types , but referred to as a "trophy" Lewis ....again , Im at the mercy of the sim.
But Im sure there are those among us who will clarify this ...but in the meantime ... enjoy.
