General Ripper has "gone a little funny" and sent his wing of B52's to attack Russia to stop their attempt to poison Americans' bodily fluids. An RAF exchange officer, Group Captain Mandrake, has managed to find the recall code and all but one bomber has been recalled. Unfortunately the last bomber had been damaged in an engagement with defenders and the radio destroyed. Also damaged was the bomb bay door which the pilot Major "King" Kong is attempting to fix while standing on the thermonuclear bomb which is shortly to be dropped on the target at Kotlas, an ICBM site. Unknown to Major Kong the bomb has just been released by the bomb aimer and with Major Kongabout to complete the fix on the bomb door this will result in both him and the bomb being dropped giving him one helluva ride!
