MSFS 2020 hazy NZWN approach

Postby Adamski » Tue Sep 08, 2020 8:54 pm

I'm still exploring (and enjoying) the atmospherics in MSFS ...

Live weather ... all clear everywhere ... except the airport itself!
Image

Runway in sight (well ... sort of)!
Image

Phew! Now deploy ground spoilers, reverse thrust and brakes!
Image

Typical ... now the mist decides to clear!

Ground services in action:

Closer and closer to reality, and it's a default airport. Amazing stuff.

Indeed. Just have to trim the trees....and get rid of the palms. A bit too tropical for windy Welly !!

No it's not: Wellywood, Adam! :P
Really interesting angle you got in the first shot, I've never noticed what that livery does when it comes together.

Amazing stuff Adam ..... I do agree with the tree comments , shot number 4 for example could be Fiji , or as you said "Florida" .... But for me , the money shot is the last one ...stunning lighting ...everything.
Re the first shot ...its not a chook , its an African bee eater ....but seriously, Charl has a point ....that is really odd.

I think I will stick with FSX
Wellington should look like this....

Possibly in 150 years we could see palm trees at the Airport?

FSX never looked like that out of the box. That is the difference.

I do think that the South Island got a better deal than the North, with the trees. Still, plenty of time for improvements, in fact tweaking the tree type/size/density is one of the simpler things in the SDK. And fun...

No, not for me, but someone with an eye for foliage could really make a difference.

Actually my version of FS2004 does it better than that, by a country mile

Seriously though, this time the new thing will be worthwhile.
A million+ users say so, and I love hearing the chatter from those waiting to tweak it.
Can't wait, although I am waiting...
