WW1 archive stuff

Postby Splitpin » Thu Nov 05, 2020 7:37 pm

This sim is long gone I think (Rise of flight) overtaken by Flying circus (IL-2) which is a shame. I have, both, but I think the former was better.

A trip back to my frame days

I have, and still use, that simulation myself.

It's superb .... and kind of really captures the infancy of flight from a combat perspective during a period when horses still went to war, tanks hadn't quite been invented (they were going to be called "cylindricals"), and the attitude of "a certain British army leader" (before establishment of the RFC) is quoted to have been .... "aeroplanes are totally useless for military purposes" :)

I also use IL-2 STURMOVIK .... which I moved to recently too.

I find an FS change is as good as a rest .... and these simulations are a nice break sometimes from flying and developing heavy historic metal for FS ;)

These look as up to date as you can get in any simulator.
How about a Spad, SE5 and a Fokker D7 to round things off?
Which AF does the last aircraft belong to?
