Queenstown-NZQN as payware from iniScene

Postby ikbenik » Tue Oct 05, 2021 9:19 am

This recently released add-on is an upgrade version of the in MSFS, so called handcrafted airport, per default included. Of coarse in better quality and more real-looking vivid scene
and blends very well in the landscape. For use in the sim is required to deactivate the MSFS-default version, simply in the content.xml file set it from '"true" to "false" to avoid
conflicts in the scenery: <Package name="asobo-airport-nzqn-queenstown" active="true"/> -----> <Package name="asobo-airport-nzqn-queenstown" active="false"/>
I'm curious if NZA Simulations will continu their development of same airport for future release. Hereby some screenshots I made during my 2 first flights with Orbx NZ Mesh active:

NZA Simulations are indeed continuing their development of the same airport NZQN. For a future release, as per a snippet of information heard from last weekends NZA Simulations impromptu MSFS Live Stream flight from NZWN - NZQN, with an in-flight onscreen chat between the NZA Devs Tim and Dean that were join briefly by Josh HybridNz, who gives a bit of a snippet WIP update on current state of development projects, that are in the pipeline. You can watch the interesting, in-flight chat commentary of the 2hr live stream flight NZWN - NZQN. Here's a link to the Live Stream video NZA Live - Shared Cockpit with NZA Devs Tim and Dean. The brief NZA Development snippet update chat is heard between video timestamps 50:00 - 57:00 It sounds very interesting that they are working on interactive MSFS scenery for the future.

Looks pretty good but the vegetation is still all wrong. Seems to be a thing with MSFS.

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

I think if the airport was well tarted up, I'd prefer that for sure. Looks better on balance.

Not a lot in it - GeoffKiwi uses ArcGIS imagery, which tends to be rather dark. I believe GIMP allows you to lighten/darken the tones so I might experiment with my Chathams images. Then again, anymore bite marks in the ceiling and the whole place will fall about my ears :o
