Some AFS4 pics

Postby emfrat » Sun Nov 27, 2022 1:20 pm

Some pics around NZQN. The Q400 ones are GeoffKiwi photoscenery on the default AFS4 mesh, and the A320 ones show the GK mesh, as well. I think the GK mesh is slightly better, but the default is pretty good, too.

These aren't half bad - some decent clouds have crept in I see.
Yes the GK mesh is slightly better but not much in it.

Well if you get tired of looking for all those differences, there's always MSFS as a consolation prize~ :)

Good to see more ZK liveries in the default package. The Q400 and A320 are new, the B777 was also in AFS2

Thankyou Charl - next job is to get some night shots. The state of play at the moment is that AFS2 cultivation is not compatible with AFS4, but IPACS have provided a lot of AFS4 cultivation in USA and Europe, so there are plenty of lights in those areas. There is work in progress on SDK tools for converting AFS2 stuff, or creating new third-party stuff for AFS4. They shot themselves in the foot a bit, by not setting standards in AFS2, which led to a lot of confusion.
So no lights in Oceania or Oz yet, but they will be along when the SDK is ready.
ATB, Mike
