Just Singin' in the Rain

Postby Charl » Tue Oct 15, 2024 9:15 pm

Late spring and the Auckland weather can do 4 things in a day, as they say.
Sure enough, my Local was marginal in the sim, but did not stop me flying.
Glad I was not actually out there.

Then I thought to have a look elsewhere for better weather.
Initially not too bad, and I contemplated making a quiz question:
Where is this, and what am I flying?

But after landing, the weather set in and a dinkum thunderstorm turned up in the sim

It's almost impossible to take a screenshot of lightning effects, so I ran a video and clipped frames from it.
Kudos to the sim, whenever lightning struck, it lit the plane in different ways and from different directions!

Yes! The Antonov might've proved a bit more challenging from inside I'd have thought.

Thanks - it was interesting to capture as it happens too fast in the sim to pin down.
Although you would know if it's "wrong".
