Over the volcanoes in my... Icon!

The aerial imagery here isn't great, but I do love the 'epic-ness' of the scenery in 2024. You can see detail a lot further than in 2020, and this gives a much more real experience.

Nice shots ... but arrrgh ... those terrain tiles!!! Ugh! Have you tried the Map Enhancer? Apparently it works in 2024.

One thing I meant to mention, these shots were taken using the new Photo mode, rather than a screenshot button. This mode is great, as it's a lot quicker to get into position for a shot. You press the photo mode button (I use a gamepad controller for photos), and your aircraft will pause (optional, and controllable while using the camera.) Then you can move the POV similar to the drone, then just press 'A' on the controller and take you shot. You can control exposure and focus, etc, and depth of field is pretty much automatic. Then toggle photo mode and you are back flying.

That sounds like quite a useful improvement! You're making it increasingly hard for me to resist breaking into that piggy bank!

I have found myself using the mouse, gamepad, joystick and keyboard in 2024, they each have their uses. And I did change the keyboard to 2020-compatible, otherwise I would be lost.

I've just up-voted a bug post about the control assignments, which sometimes overrun the little display box, so you just can't read them. I know that on the joystick, I use 'button 10 + but... something' for trim, I just don't know what the 'something' is.

I should start a thread on some of the issues. As soon as someone else on NZFF actually tries 2024.

We're all watching and learning from your exploits!
I pinned your previous post about the community folder location, be great to have some more (pinned) intelligence as you explore around the new sim.

Can't think of anyone more qualified.

Well ... I bit the bullet and bought the Deluxe version. 4 hours later, the thing had downloaded all 12Gb then keeps failing on unpacking. I'm not alone, apparently.

Jeez - when will they get their act together?

Yes, today the servers are getting hit hard again, with most of the world getting into their weekend, either Friday night or Saturday morning. I guess that most were waiting for some spare time to try it out.
I flew from Fox Glacier airfield to Tekapo, but by the time I got there the ground was a blurry mess.
I also noted once again that the Alps don't look great, and there seems to be too much snow down low. Mount Cook airport was snowed in. Plus Fox Glacier airfield seemed to have autumn colours.

UPDATE: Uninstalling via the X-Box app and reinstalling did the trick ... I'm IN!

1st port of call ... NZMF! Now to start re-adding all my controller settings.

Wonderful shots of the Icon!
I'm loving all my low-level FS2020 explorations in my various Ultralight Aircraft....>>> Icon, Flight Design CTSW, Cub/Carbon X, Quicksilver, Ant's Drifters, and various Flexwing Microlights!
With very nice Cub Crafters Floats (Amphibian) for some fun on the water
It's all "low-and-slow" stuff for me...every day!
..especially with 3-axis (Ailerons, Rudder, Elevators) Trike Ultralights...
...and even my latest "Scrapyard Monster" is giving me loads of "fast and slow" joy, in my FS2020!
A typical example around the open-cast mines in southern Arizona (near Tucson)...>>> https://www.youtube.com/@RichParkerflys/videos
My type of Flight Simming!.... :D ... :D ...!

Motorcycling..in the Air!... .. :D ...!

Paul in England... ... ... :UK: ...!
