Yes, night shots are not easy, but as Doug showed, the trick is to bring in external light sources. A while back, the theme was 'moonlight' or summat, and I put up a clever one of a floatplane at the beach in Halfmoon Bay, for a naughty weekend.
It was aced by an excellent 'silhouette against full moon shot'...even I had to vote for that oneMikeW
