Personally I'd like someone to model the Auster Agricola so that I could enter that in the Screenshot Competition. Deane?? Anyone???

Don't like your chances of me whipping one up in the next week before the competition ends! Come to think of it, I don't like your chances of me modelling an Agricola at all !!
Thanks for the R22 pics. I had a look in the ag thread of an NZ aviation forum and found no pics at all of R22's or R44's. I think R44's are becoming a bit more common as they are closer to the capability of a Jetranger.

Crikey brendan, you're going to need a lot of insecticide to kill those locusts if they're that size! tongue.gif

Don't quite understand?? Whilst a few R22 are used by some operators for the odd job, they are definitely not "as kiwi ag as you can get" !! They are a training/private helicopter with very limited payload. Even Robinson Helicopters do not endorse what some operators are doing with them as many have crashed as a result of flying beyond there design parameters.

Kinda like the Tiger Moth was at the birth of Ag Aviation in New Zealand don't you think?

There wasn't much choice back then though! It was the birth of a new industry and there were no purpose built aeroplanes in those days.

I think people are missing my point though. I'm not denying that the R22 is used on ag-ops, as were a variety of other aircraft, many of them in small numbers. But despite them being ag aircraft to different degrees, I don't think they all deserve the statement "as kiwi ag as you can get" !! That statement seems to me to apply some of the more iconic ones, especially those that were used in big numbers and/or over many years and the R22 does not fit into that category.

But that doesn't mean it should not feature in the screenshot competition. Its good to see this competition is dragging out lots of cool ideas and I'm not trying to stifle the creativity!

Second attempt. Amalgamated Helicopters 500E (Nemeth Freeware) Topdressing over the Otago Penninsula.

Does the nemeth 500E come with the fert bucket? I haven't seen that model before. Underslung fert buckets on helos were a kiwi idea/invention and we were also first in the world to use H500 for ag-ops, so quite fitting!

No, The bucket is actually a concrete bucket (very similar to the fert buckets i've seen) that came with Lama X. But a bit of kiwi interpretation and some well placed smoke from the 500 above it and the results speak for themselves.

I must mention the freeware "AI Carriers 2" which allows me to put liftable objects anywhere I want without having to muck around in the murky world of mission creation, tried that and failed.
