Difficult to say (!). Lifting an aircraft out of one image and "plonking" it over some unrelated background would be a shame, IMHO - but that's only my opinion - the rules are up for grabs!

I tend to want to be able to show off something that's possible from MSFS (albeit with a few add-ons) rather than showing off my own Photoshop skills (or lack of!!!).

I think a camera is a good analogy. We can have cheap cameras, or spend a fortune on good lenses etc. ... but it's being in the right place at the right time and composing the image *at that moment* that creates a good photograph - or captures that memory.

Long-winded as usual ... I'd say if you make "substantial" edits - just tell us what you did ... it'll be interesting nonetheless!

I think that is a very well said explanation of the difference.

There was a little more than "plonking" (love that word! biggrin.gif) but I realize it's a little over the top, and generally won't fit the comp. winkyy.gif
That, and there's no NZ in my shot. sad.gif

Dont have to include NZ....I dont bother too much with scenery....just the aircraft and the clouds. Depends on what you want i suppose........i just do it for myself, and share what i think may be of interest (sometimes there is...other times there's not)
Good to see what can be done with both the sim and editing software......thanks for posting Shane

Marty

ps 02.52 NZL 1 , ITL 1........ours was skill, theirs was a penalty..........i cant stay awake anymore.......go you good things Australia.gif

Nice one! Far as I'm concerned thats fair game - WoP IS a sim (scored 95% in Computer Pilot mag too!) and it sure looks like a spit to me!

I like the idea of having it as a framed picture too - makes me want to shell out for one of these: Homage to a legend smile.gif

Spitfire...isn't that the one with the elliptical wings, and the Merlin motor? winkyy.gif

This one almost qualifies, then:
FS9 Realair MK IV

Funnily enough ... I was wondering whether we should throw it open to IL-2 simmers as well. What are peoples' thoughts on this ... MSFS exclusive ... or open to all??

What's WOP like? I tried the demo but was undecided.

I'd have used IL2, if it was. winkyy.gif

This seems to be more about the Spitfire itself, as opposed to which sim the Spitfire is in, so I've got no issues with it. smile.gif

1) The screenshot must be from a Flight Simulator program (FS2004, FSX, X-Plane, etc),[/quote] as the other comps in the past though im happy to change mine to fit the msfs cat ,i always try my luck ,bit of a rulz bender .. tongue.gif

WOP
Im still trying to bend my mind around the mapping of the controls ,real tricky to set up even with there default profile evo cyborg ,
im still working so not much time for learning this new game for me ,its good dont get me wrong, just need more time on it to at least fly one mission ,i did ace the tutorials and found that simple enough but im not using the full simulator features yet..

Yes ... and I'm enjoying every one of them! Here's mine:

Honour bound to use a compatriot's mark: one of the Skalski Spits in an African sky! Realair FSX Spit with clouds courtesy of REX. Shot taken over Wanaka, but don't tell anyone!

But do not forget that there is also the official screenshot competition as well.

Some great shots coming in for both comps. though.

Smooth landings.

Great thing about an unofficial screenshot comp is you can bend the rules...
Bandits...2 o'clock Low...

I have a MK XVI somewhere that's got to get an airing, too winkyy.gif
